A cabaret hostess falls for a young aristocrat, ignoring her friend's warning that the affair will end in heartache.

Myrtle May is a hostess at a Broadway cabaret, she becomes infatuated with blue-blood aristocrat Harold Van Tassel, but his family is firmly opposed to their marriage. One of her patrons, Jerry Gibson, makes advances to Rose Ingraham, a country girl who has been unable to find employment, and Myrtle, befriending Rose, takes her home and treats her as a sister. When Van Tassel calls at Myrtle's house, Myrtle becomes jealous of his attentions to Rose; and when the girl leaves, Myrtle seeks revenge through Mrs. Van Tassel. The family lawyer, however, induces her to relent, and she renounces her claim, leaving the young couple free to marry.—Pamela Short
