Los Angeles Police Detective Danny Clover searches for a kidnapped wife of a banker. Set in 1953, this was a pilot for a series that never got made. It was based on a 1949-1953 radio series "Broadway's My Beat", which was written by Morton Fine and David Friedkin, the father of the writer and director of this movie. Friedkin used the same main characters and time frame of his dad's show, but moved it to L.A.
