In 1967 Canadian musician Bobby Gimby is tasked by the Government run Centennial Commission to write a song for Canada's 100th anniversary. Bobby tackles the challenge by looking for musical inspiration from all across Canada. Along the way he meets colorful friends and characters that help him find the words to his song.
