A group of animal friends, find a baby dragon, they name her Cinders, and set off on a journey to find her mother. Throughout their journey, they discover how science can help them better understand the world around them.
After finding a baby dragon and naming her Cinders, a group of animal friends, Twiggy, a bear, Red, a fox, Jack a beaver, and Chisel, a woodpecker, explore what they need to eat and stay alive. But a wolf decides that what he needs to eat is Cinders. So they all decide how best to protect Cinders and help her to find her home and her mother. Throughout the series they travel to many lands, meeting new friends, and experiencing new adventures together. They learn about what to eat, different animal species and their life cycles, and how to keep fit and healthy. They also find out how how plants grow, and that some can also be eaten as food. After a forest fire, they help care for the environment. In a rain forest and later a polar region, they find out about different types of materials and substance properties, and the different ways that they can be used. During a sledge chase, they discover how speed and different forces can help them escape the wolf. During their travels they also learn about magnetism, light and shadows, electricity, and different sounds, near and far. Finally the group pass through a strange cave behind a waterfall, and meet a mysterious unicorn, who guides them to a magical looking land. Far away they hear flapping wings, getting nearer, and see what looks like a large dragon. Could it be Cinder's mother?—Malcolm Hartley
