In medieval times, tiny anthropomorphic dogs called Biskitts live on a small island in a forest and safeguard the riches of local kings. Mean local king Max, his dogs Fang and Snarl, his jester Shecky and wildcat Scratch hunt them.

They have been tasked with guarding the crown jewels of Biskitt Castle, and they remain loyal to a recently deceased king and his regime. Their main enemy is King Max, their former leader's younger brother. He inherited his brother's title but not his actual wealth or lands. Max is both a cruel man and a spendthrift, who constantly schemes to reclaim his family's treasures and other valuable items guarded by the Biskitts. Max's main henchman is Shecky the court jester.
