The god Colima tries to win the love of a beautiful young Indian maiden, who won't betray the man she loves.

The filmization of an ancient Mexico legend with Colina (Casimiro Ortega), the God of the Hills, Valleys and Streams, who, strolling through his domain in the guise of a hunter, falls passionately in love with Mapoli (Alicia Parla),the village's most beautiful maiden, and sought to woo her away from her betrothed Nezati ((Mario Forastieri) but was rudely repulsed. Infuriated beyond control by Mapoli's disdain, Colina wreaked his anger on the village by causing the volcano to erupt and pour its molten lava down on the humble huts and simple inhabitants, only to be chastised by the God of Creation, who imprisoned Colina in the very volcano he had sought to use as an instrument of vengeance.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
