This is a tale of how the angel of life was confronted by the angel of death. Set in Auschwitz Birkenau, 1944.

The movie is based on the experiences of Polish Catholic midwife, Stanislawa Leszczynka, who was sent to Auschwitz by the Gestapo, after being caught helping Jews in the Lodz Ghetto. She risked her life delivering babies and trying to keep them alive in Auschwitz. She is being considered for canonization (sainthood) by the Catholic Church.—Tricia Meehan
