Two years after her husband Paul Faber died in a fiery car crash that left his body beyond recognition, wealthy Christine Faber is finally ready to move on with her life in accepting the marriage proposal of lawyer Martin Abbott, despite Christine admitting to herself that Paul will always be her true love. Accepting the proposal, only the latest of many by Martin to her, is also despite earlier that day hearing Paul's voice in the wind calling out to her, and meeting by chance a psychic named Alexis who seemed to know all about her and Paul's life together, things that he would have no way of knowing. As such, Christine decides to use Alexis' psychic consulting services partly so that she can move on from Paul more fully. The exact opposite happens in she, still hearing Paul's voice and hearing his favorite piano composition, becomes more attached to his memory. In reality, Alexis is a fake, his ruse over Christine elaborate and well researched solely to get money from her. Concerned for Christine in her ever increasing reliance on Alexis, Martin and Christine's younger sister Janet Burke, with the assistance of a private detective, go on a mission to expose Alexis to get Christine out from under his spell. But Alexis too is forced to adjust his plot with Christine when Paul truly seems to have arisen from the dead as Christine has felt since she heard his voice in the wind the day she met Alexis.—Huggo
