Sir Galahad, a knight of the Round Table, searches for the legendary sword Excalibur.
Sir Galahad is refused admission to King Arthur's Round Table until he regains the missing magic sword Excalibur, which makes its possessor invincible. Ulric, the Saxon King, invades England. Galahad, aided by Sir Bors, attempts to retrieve Excalibur from Bartog, Ulric's chief aide, who has gotten it from a mysterious knight.Merlin the Magician harasses Galahad at every turn, while Morgan le Fey, Arthur's sister and also a magician, helps Galahad fight both Merlin's magic and the Saxons. The Black Knight, a traitor within Camelot, is conspiring with the Saxons and a band of outlaws to overthrow King Arthur. When Queen Guinevere is seized by the traitors, Merlin relents and sends Galahad to the Lady of the Lake, who gives him Excalibur.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
Chapter One THE STOLEN SWORD - In a tournament held at Camelot, the palace of King Arthur (Nelson Leigh), two of his Knights of the Round Table, Sir Bors (Charles King) and Sir Modred (Leonard Penn) are the victors. An unknown youth appears and defeat both of them. As a reward he asks that he be admitted to the Round Table, Identifying himself as Galahad (George Reeves). He is required to stand guard over King Arthur's sword, Excalibur, for one night. He is mysteriously drugged and the sword, which renders the wearer invincible, is stolen.Galahad is refused knighthood until the sword is found. Merlin (William Fawcett), a wise magician and counselor to the King, predicts dire results for Britain. News arrives that Arthur's realm has been invalided by King Ulric(John Merton) of the Saxons.Arthur's sister, Morgan LaFay(Pat Barton), tells Galahad that the way to Excalibur lies through the Enchanted Forest, Merlin's dwelling place. Galahad decides to go there in an effort to to find the sword and leaves Arthur's forces. Sir Bors and Sir Lancelot (Hugh Prosser), both of them sympathetic to Galahad, see him ride off. Bors follows to give any help he can. Galahad enters the forest and encounters Merlin. The magician warns him to leave but Galahad refuses.
