Summaries

Naive adventurer with luck on his side conquers the wilderness.

Dan Haggerty is Jacob Fremont, a legendary mountain man. How did he become a legend? Well, like all mountain men he starts out as a greenhorn. A jack-of-all-trades, Fremont moves to the wilderness because he's determined to make it on his own as a mountain dweller despite the dire warnings of a grizzled old mountain man played by Denver Pyle. The older man insists Fremont turn back to civilization before he's eaten by a bear. But Fremont's determination knows no bounds. After losing his supplies on the river and breaking his leg in an accident he decides to stick it out. Eventually he meets a large cast of animal characters who all require his help. He befriends these animals and becomes famous for his "critter" menagerie. But not everybody understands his pacifist ways, especially local trappers who want Fremont gone. Similar to the Grizzly Adams movies also starring Haggerty, The Adventures of Frontier Fremont is a family friendly movie with lots of animals.—ABA
