Summaries

In a fairy-tale city called the City of Flowers, live short people, tiny little men, each of which is as tall as a small cucumber. They differ by gender: representatives of the male population are called boy-babies, and the female ones are called girl-babies. It is noteworthy that the little ones live separately: only boy-babies live in some houses, only girl-babies live in others. Some babies have nicknames related to their occupation (mechanics Vintik and Shpuntik, doctors Pilyulkin and Medunitsa, poets Tsvetik and Samotsvetik, artist Tyubik, musician Guslya, and so on) or character traits (Toropyzhka, Avoska, Neboska, thick shorty Ponchik and others).—Bazza the Beast
