Two men plot to steal and hold for ransom the remains of President Abraham Lincoln.

In 1876, Tom Muldoon (Victor McLaglen), a released convict, tries to arrange for the escape of a jailed counterfeiter, , who can provide $100,000 in payment when freed, plus the plates of almost perfect replicas. With the aid of a colleague, Jack Lingler (George McCready), they abduct the daughter (Fay Spain) of the federal prison warden (Nolan Leary). But the scheme goes awry. Then, they scheme to steal the body of President Abraham Lincoln from its tomb in Springfield, Illinois.
