The story of a boy from a home for abandoned children, who tries to find out the truth about his origins.

The story starts in a Bosnian woods in 1993, when a women gives birth to a baby boy, and jumps to 2006, to an orphanage in Sarajevo which is home to a thirteen-year-old boy, Alen. Former director Gago told Alen that his mother is French and his father is English, who met as war reporters in Sarajevo and due to war and professional obligations have temporarily left him in the orphanage. Alen writes letters and gives them to educator Cica, to be sent to his mother in France. However, Cica places all the letters of children in a drawer, because in reality there is no one to send them to. A new director Mirza, a young and capable educator, truly wants to help children in their growing up. Next to the orphanage is shop owned by Sento, a criminal. For him, the children from the orphanage steal expensive stuff. After the failed robbery, police perform investigation, and Alen, afraid, try to get to his files, actually address of his mother, that he can left the orphanage and go to her.—John Stevenson
