After the end of World War II, the former officer of the Hellenic Air Force, Captain Alekos Nikolopoulos, receives a letter from Keti Kouroukli, a beautiful woman he had met at a ball and had spent the entire night with her. In her emotional message, Keti describes her predicament, explaining the reason why she had to leave her village to avoid the scandal, and relocated to Athens to raise their child all by herself.
