Synopsis

A BEGINNER HITMAN HAS TO OVERCOME A GREAT CHALLENGE: IT'S A SHE.

A crime film with comedic overtones, Terapie pentru crima (Therapy for Murder) follows Matilde, a beginner "professional" assassin who not only has to overcome the problems that every beginner in this unusual profession faces, but also an additional and personal challenge: she's a woman. When Matilde realizes that killing for money is not that easy she wants to back out but it may already be too late as a real professional assassin is now after her.

Matilde is a young woman that decides to quit her boring daily job and become a professional killer, even if she has no credentials that would recommend her for this kind of life.As she quits her job she cannot resist but knock-out her boss instead of good-bye. Because of this she is convicted to follow a psychological therapy to cure her aggressive behavior.Matilde is very determined to find her way in the killer's business and starts to train herself spotting innocent people in lonely public places, but all her attempts are plain failures.Hoping to receive back the money he lent her, Grigg, which is her former boyfriend, reluctantly accepts to help Matilde to find a client. Meanwhile, she tries to turn the psychological therapy in her favor, asking the psychologist to immunize in order to find the strength to kill with cold blood.When Grigg finds her a client the things go wrong again as the client doesn't trust that a woman can do the job for him and doesn't want to pay in advance. But she is too eager to prove herself and goes after her prey, being sure that the pills the psychologist gave her will really help.However, the victim is the owner of a lovely cat that melts her hart and makes her incapable to finish the job. When her intended victim finds out that a close friend of him wanted him dead, he offers her twice to money to eliminate her original client.But Matilde wants out; she thinks is too weak for the task. Even her psychologist is surprised by her sudden change and, intrigued, wants to find out why she couldn't find the strength to press the trigger.Meanwhile a real professional killer sneaks into her apartment and orders her to stop destroying his business. He forces her to give him the money she received this far and, furious that she didn't kill her target as she was hired to, goes to finish himself the job for her.Matilde hopes she can save the cat lover, but she arrives too late. Although shaken by his death she has the nerve to take photos of the body in order to prove to her client that she completed the job and to ask for the rest of the payment.The meeting with her client goes very wrong as he was contacted by the real professional and already new that she didn't do her job. He asks his money back. She has no chance fighting him but somehow she shots him dead.But her problems are not over as the real professional keeps captive her former boyfriend and the cat that melted her heart. She offers to give him the rest of the money to set them free, but he is not satisfied yet. To prove her that she is only a weak women, the professional kills the cat to her despair.But this is more than she can bear. Outraged she somehow finds within herself the force to kill him, against all the odds.In order to leave everything behind, she bribes the psychologist to end the jury-imposed therapy. But then she discovers that her therapist was not saner than she. She even has clues to believe that the therapist wants to became a professional killer, too.
