After illegally crossing the Mexico-U.S. border with his father (Damián Alcázar), young Teo (Erick Cañete) gets separated from him when a gang of bandits attacks them, leaving the boy lost and alone -- until he's befriended by teenage Chuy (Andrés Márquez). Teo es un niño oaxaqueño de 9 años que no conoce a su padre. Un día éste vuelve para llevarse a su hijo pero al cruzar la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos, Teo y Wenceslao se separan. Así, Teo conocerá a Chuy, quien promete ayudarle a encontrar a su padre. Esta película narra la historia de dos niños que, atrapados en la frontera con Estados Unidos, tienen que afrontar en solitario la búsqueda del padre perdido, aunque eso signifique lanzarse a cruzar el desierto. La soledad y el peligro harán que su aventura los fortalezca como amigos.
