A series of crimes are taking place in a small provincial town. Murders are committed according to one scenario: women disappear while returning from parties. There was an assumption that a maniac was operating in the city. Nikolay Gorobets, an investigator of the Prosecutor General's Office, arrives in the city to sort out what is happening. However, the local prosecutor is not interested in the success of the metropolitan investigator, so Gorobets team includes a young investigator Svetlana Miroshnikova and a very "green" operative Mikhail Vorobyov.
