Modern day teens Mack and Brady get a real world visit from Lela, Tanner, Butchy, and other surfer and biker pals from the beach party film within a film, Wet Side Story.
Teen Beach Movie is over and it's 3 weeks later. Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack (Maia Mitchell) celebrate their 3 month "meet-iversary" reflecting on their time in the 1960's musical "Wet Side Story". Then Lela (Grace Phipps) and Tanner (Garrett Clayton), stars of "Wet Side Story", travel through time and dimension to appear on the beach in current time surprising Mack and Brady. Changes start taking place inside the movie leaving the other movie characters to try and follow Lela and Tanner. The start of school effects the relationship of Brady and Mack. New characters are introduced and old characters are brought back. Lots of singing and dancing ensue to move the plot along. There is suspence as they race to stop time from erasing their existence. The end of the movie may leave several questions unanswered...
