He was born in Øvre-Rendal in 1735: here he falls in love with a Tater girl, Kristie. dark and mysterious, and teams up with the taters, runs around, wreaks havoc and steals. Tater-Kristen was also fond of a fair-haired girl Kari Kirkestuen from Sollia. Tater-Kristen ended his life in Søljørøsta where he was beheaded by three farmers from Ytre-Rendal.—VHS
