Freshly released from the Greek Army, Manousos--the older son of a multitudinous family--arrives in the bustling city of Athens, in high hopes of finding a better future. However, equipped only with his old bouzouki, and an ardent desire to succeed, the proud self-starter will soon realise that a faceless metropolis is a cruel place for those who dare to dream big. To make matters worse, even when Manousos starts to taste the fruit of his labour and gets married to the beautiful and rich woman, Elena, a harsh fate still seems to stand in the way.
