Summaries

Set in a village in the year 1977, Tapaal dwells with sympathy, concern and understanding on the bond between a little boy and a childless couple, and the social discrimination that they face.

Tapaal is a heartwarming depiction of the power that a single letter wields and how it can change the lives of the person delivering it and the one reading it. Through the story of the romantic kid Ranga (Rohit) and the kind postman Devram (Nandu) 'Tapaal' takes you on a journey that unfolds with Ranga's childish desires. While delivering letters to the village folk, Devram meets Ranga. In Ranga, the childless couples Devram and his wife (Veena) see their son and they shower all the love they can on him. When Ranga writes a letter to his childhood sweetheart, little does he know what fate awaits him if the letter lands in the wrong hands? Fortunately, he witnesses the consequence when his senior gets caught while peeking into the village sarpanch's daughter's room. Scared as hell, Ranga makes it a point to get his letter back before it is delivered. Thus begins his relation with Devram.—subratjain1
