Summaries

In 1985, the military regime in Brazil was weakened due to previous protests and manifestations demanding for new direct elections in the country. With that outcome in mind, the current leadership asked the Congress to include a new election which had two candidates: one supported by the regime and another one running for the democracy. Tancredo Neves was that candidate and he won the election becoming the first democratic president in more than 20 years. But things didn't happened as planned during this government transition. The documentary follows the initial ecstasy of change and the agony a whole nation suffered in those days that altered politics in Brazil.—Rodrigo Amaro
