Born from paper, pen, and a wish, Mimi Mimica, a mime who uses sign language, is brought to life to help her creator, Timothé Imiter, see his vision as reality. However, after suffering from a stage accident and the harsh panning of critics, Timothé keeps Mimi hidden from the world. Feeling sad and alone, the young mime wishes for friends to play with. With the Noble Fairy, Nix's blessing, she is given a magical broach and steps forth into Annualia, a seasonal world where fictional characters and humans co-exist in harmony. That is where she meets her new friends, Sorin Battington and Duff B. Mandible.
Together, they travel through the dark Bedeviled Forest and discover more annual regions such as the festive Evergreen Town, the warm Vernal Valley, and the scorching Terra d'Estate. Along the way, they encounter many creatures, both friendly and fierce, with their own story to tell.
The reclusive old scarecrow, Hektor, traps intruders and forces them to gamble for their souls. The bubbly Winter Angel, SnowBelle, spreads kindness to everyone she meets and never turns a blind eye. The humble werewolf doctor, Olcan Mondkrieger, spreads his gift of healing through medicine and song. The beautiful, yet deadly enchantress, La Hierba Mora, turns people's worst nightmares into reality. Whatever their stories unfold, Mimi and her friends will overcome many challenges and learn life lessons to help the young mime grow.
