Synopsis

Eagle Vision is proud to present Season V of TAKEN, a 13 X half-hour true crime documentary series, focusing on missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, men and boys, and members of theLGBTQ2S+ community in Canada. Seasons I through IV shared 60 stories over 52 episodes, with a teamled by Executive Producer and Co-Creator Lisa Meeches, OM, CM, Anishinaabe, and a member of LongPlain First Nation. With the support of family members, community leaders, elders and knowledgekeepers, law enforcement, politicians at all levels of government, academics, and more, TAKEN willcontinue to share these stories from coast to coast to coast in its fifth season. The goals are clear for allinvolved - to solve these cases, to raise awareness for the work being done to create safety and systemicchange, and to honour those who have been lost and, hopefully, to bring them home. TAKEN confrontshead-on the search for answers, the clues that link these stories, and the hope that this epidemic ofviolence against Indigenous peoples will end. TAKEN focuses on the story of one, and occasionally twoconnected missing or murdered Indigenous women, girls, men, boys, and Two-Spirit people per episode.Using gripping interviews with loved ones left behind, emotionally riveting reenactments, breathtakingcinematography that showcases the beauty and the darkness of our nation, as well as photos, video, andsometimes audio of the missing women themselves, TAKEN sheds light on these cases. Importantly, each episode tells the story of every individual's lives - the people and things they loved, the dreams theyhad, and the legacy they left behind. The storytelling is balanced and journalistic, while at its core, it isprovocative human drama with a sense of mystery, and urgency. TAKEN provides a call to action toshare information in the hopes of sparking those who know the answers to the questions surroundingthese crimes to come forward. There are people out there who know the truth.
