Summaries

MC Kash is a 22 year old rapper based in Srinagar, Kashmir. As soon as I heard his music, I knew I had to meet him. When we met two weeks later I asked him to interview those affected by the Indian occupation. One woman in particular, the founder of the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons, Parveena Ahangar, moved him, profoundly. The film takes its name from a song he wrote over the course of their meeting and my filming. Take It In Blood focuses on the two of them getting to know each other via music and a shared journey of coming to grips with the reality of living in India occupied Kashmir, but through his eyes, intellect, and voice.—Anonymous
