Iván Koltay, a dreaming sculptor, catches a glimpse of a beautiful young girl in the moonlight on the lakeside, or rather in the middle of the lake. The beauty, who seems to have bathed without a bathing suit, completely captivates the man. When the artist is commissioned by the nearby sanatorium to create a sculpture of Health, Iván models the vision. Many people admire the half-finished sculpture, with only the face not yet finished. When he sees Anna Balázs, the paralyzed daughter of the sanatorium's chief doctor, boating in the lake, our artist is convinced that she was the inspiration for the sculpture.
