A young couple's romance comes to a tragic end.

In mid-1920s Salamina, Dimitros, the proud son of Vagelis Lebesis, the island's most prominent fisherman, is secretly in love with the charming but impecunious orphaned girl, Tzevoula. At first, Vagelis, and his wife, Lemonia, give their consent to the young couple's marriage; however, after the tragic death of an innocent, rumours implicating Dimitros start spreading like wildfire, turning everything upside down. Now, Dimitros is facing trial for murder, unbeknownst to him that a shocking revelation regarding Lemonia's buried past, threatens Tzevoula's future.
