Documentary on Kurt Feldtblad, who took part in Operation Overlord in WW2 as a Swedish volunteer

Kurt Feldtblad, the son of a poor farmer, decided his life was going to be different. Together with his older brother Walter he enrolled in the Swedish military navy cadet school, but soon ran away because of the awful conditions. Now they started to work in the merchant fleet, but when WW2 began they were out of a job. When USA was attacked by the Japanese, the two young men decided to go to America to help fight the Germans. They took part in many dangerous operations, but the documentary focuses on Kurt's experiences during Operation Overlord, where he was in charge of one of the boats used at Omaha Beach. In the documentary Kurt, now an old man, talks about the haunting memories of what he saw and experienced of human sacrifice, courage and friendship.—Deep Throat
