Summaries

TV transmission of Danish Royal Theater's stage production of Brecht's 1943 classic. Set in Nazi-occupied Prague and on the Russian Front during World War II. The good soldier Svejk, after surviving the First World War, is still alive, and manages to overcome dangerous situations in Gestapo Headquarters, a military prison, and a Voluntary Labor Service. Always poking fun at grandiose rulers and the absurdity of war, Svejk personifies the power of passive resistance. A signature act for Henning Moritzen.
