Summaries

An observational documentary which follows the work done by Australian volunteer Surf Lifesavers.

This docudrama format is an Australian reality counterpart of fictitious LA/Hawai series 'Baywatch': scenes from the eventful real-life activities of volunteer but well-trained, athletic lifeguards called Surf Lifesavers. They operate in the Pacific Ocean, but the southern half, 'down under', notable at Gunnamatta beach on the Goldcoast, near the Victoria state metropolis of Melbourne, performing real patrols on foot or by boat, both preventive and to save tourists and water sportsmen in actual trouble, sometimes at peril of their own lives.—KGF Vissers
