A variety of different people, both adults, children, families, young lovers and youth gangs, spend a Sunday at the beach of Ostia outside Rome.

It is Sunday in Rome and those who can go to Ostia, to the sea. A group of kids on bicycles; a large and noisy family with an old car; a widower who takes his daughter to a colony because his fiancée does not want to take her on vacation, by train; Adriana, who left Roberto to shake off poverty, with a luxury car in the company of Donati. And who stays in the city: Hercules who is a traffic policeman, waiting for the papers to marry his pregnant girlfriend and fired for this by the bosses; Roberto who finds bad companies and gets into a mess. Thus a series of parallel stories unravels, sad or cheerful, and in the evening, after Sunday of August, some important things will have changed.—Baldinotto da Pistoia
