The lives of four friends are turned upside down when they botch a job for the city's crime lord.

Sugar Cain's story revolves around four young men, Cain, Joey, Vince and Zeke doing the dirty work of the local crime lord Donovan. While eluding the clutches of the city's police inspector, the foursome continue to do job after job for Donovan. When he hands them their largest assignment, Cain is the only one who seems to realize what the price could be. When a plan goes wrong and appears to give the inspector evidence which could convict them, the personal conflict among the quartet intensifies.
