The series shows the work of two detectives working in the investigation department at a large insurance company. Each series is a hotel "insured event" - from theft of valuables from private collections to man-made disasters, major accidents at work and transport, causing serious bodily injury to insured people, sudden deaths, all areas covered by modern insurance. The motive of the crimes is the sum insured - sometimes it is millions of dollars.
