Stevie D is a humorous crime drama about an Los Angeles construction magnate whose only son has accidentally killed a connected man. A sinister plan is hatched sending the son into hiding while an unknown actor is hired to unknowingly take the hit.
Stevie D is a spoiled rich kid whose father Angelo wants him to take over the family business. However, all he wants to do is live his life the way he wants. And he keeps going to the law firm handling his father's affairs and hitting on Daria, whose father has represented Angelo for 20 years. People keep seeing a commercial starring an actor named Michael, and the resemblance between Michael and Stevie D is amazing.
When Stevie D beats up Nick Jr. in a strip club, Nick Jr. dies (the cause is uncertain but it wasn't intentional). Nick Sr. comes to Angelo demanding compensation. Stevie D disappears and Angelo needs a way to show that his business will be in good shape when his son takes over. He has to impress those who can help him, and he hires Michael to pretend to be Stevie D. Michael is reluctant but Angelo makes him an offer he can't refuse. Also, his agent retires and can't get Michael anyone else to represent him.
Another possible reason why Angelo hired Michael: Nick Sr. has assigned hit men to whack Stevie D, but fortunately they are idiots and Nick Sr. insists Angelo be there for the hit. so despite many opportunities, Michael just might get through this.
Another complication: someone else is following Stevie D. They might be cops of some kind because they are listening to his conversations with someone else using a bug they planted.
Michael is instructed not to contact anyone from his own life, but he ignores that in one case, and it ends up benefiting Angelo.
Lenny is in charge of making sure Michael gets everything he needs, but he wants to be an actor. Lenny wants Michael to help him get into the business.
Everyone believes Michael is Stevie D, which is amazing. The man is too good to be true, so Stevie D must have cleaned up his act. Among those who accept the new Stevie D is Daria. Will their romance go anywhere?
But here's something to think about. What if Stevie D comes back?
