Fresh out of prison for accidentally killing an opponent, ex-boxer Joe Medina pursues aspiring actress Harriet after an accidental murder. Assuming another's identity, he evades law and mobsters through twists and deaths.

Ex boxer JOE MEDINA, bitter from a lifetime of scraping for his next meal, is released from prison for unintentionally killing his opponent in the ring. After meeting the beautiful HARRIET EVANS, he unintentionally kills her jealous boyfriend, and Harriet flees to Hollywood to pursue her dream of movie stardom. Joe hitchhikes in pursuit, gets a ride with a mysterious stranger named Haskell, and unintentionally kills him. Joe decides to assume Haskell's identity, and finds himself suddenly in possession of a priceless diamond, also sought after by Haskell's ex girlfriend, who Joe proceeds to accidentally strangle. Now chased by police and mobsters alike, Joe must outrun an avalanche of robbery, intrigue - and of course, more unfortunate homicides. But in a thrilling climax, he backs into a surprisingly unexpected triumph - reunion with the girl of his dreams, the sweet lesson that money ain't everything, and (yikes!) one more unintentional murder.
