Bored with peacetime lack of action, a Great War veteran dashes off to the Greek army to hunt down a marauding bandit. His hatred for women is tested by a saucy young lady he rescues there.
Roger Norman, a British veteran of World War I, enlists in the Greek Army. As a lieutenant, he meets Jania, a local girl whom he rescues from a burning house. To show her appreciation, Jania goes to the army camp to give Roger a bottle of wine. Roger's commanding officer attacks her and then dies accidentally in a fight with Roger. They escape and are captured by bandits who force Roger to cooperate with them. Eventually Roger is reinstated in the military service for thwarting a bandit attack and capturing their leader, Chika. Roger and Jania find they have fallen in love.
