A gang of con artists disguise themselves as clerics in order to pull off a job, but soon find that even pretending to be religious people is having an effect on them.
Three roving con men get cornered and find their only way out is to pretend to be something they aren't--Reverends! Fighting their old natural inclinations and dodging the police is trouble enough, but the lessons they learn along the way create for a feel good experience for the viewers. Note the old mission basement in the movie...it is likely one of the original AA meeting locations in a New York church basement...you can tell by the signs on the walls.
