Synopsis

A plane flying over Hong Kong. At the airport, a business-man looking leaves, but he's being followed. He arrives to a mansion.

An artist is painting a portrait of a man, a wealthy constructor and builder called Mr Zeider (Richard Erdman). The news that Min Lo Chan (Benson Fog) is in New York reaches them. There's a moment when he calls for Maureen (Suzanne Vale) and Tina (Zara Brierley), but neither of them pay attention to the mafia boss. They decide they want Min dead. Zeider's stakes are high, because he may win a Chinese government contract to build a steel mill worth a billion dollars.

J. Jonah Jameson (Robert F. Simon) used to be a schoolmate and get better marks than him. Rita Conway (Chip Fields), Jonah's secretary, will show Min's companion, his niece Emily Chan (Rosalind Chao) around. The government is going after the people in an expedition many years ago about a Chinese gold treasure. Min is afraid he'll be killed in the future. Jonah calls for Peter Parker (Nicholas Hammond), who asks directly Major Collings (Ted Danson), his friend in the Marine. It so happened that, many years ago, Min rejected an offer to sell secrets from Mao Zedong and his dictatorial government related to the army. Now he felt he had to leave the country and find those three dangerous men who may start a war between the USA and China.

Peter, who really is Spider-Man, detects a thug loading a gun. Spidey fights this man; somebody appears shouting "Call the police", so Spidey runs. Chang also runs away. James will run the story in the front page. But suddenly, Jameson wants Parker and Julie Masters (Ellen Bry) to kill the story, but Julie still wants to investigate.

Parker feels two thugs entering the Chan's home. Clyde Evans (Hagan Beggs) has been selected to kill Min and all the information about Zeider and his plans. He wants to pick Peter and Emily out of the house. Parker goes to another room and jumps from the window. As Emily doesn't cooperate, that gives Spider-Man time to change and fight the killers, who allegedly only wanted to ask Chang some questions. He seems to have had a heart attack. Emily is mad at Peter because he was a coward and left her and her uncle to die. Jameson can't console Peter.

He speaks to Julie again. Another thug tries to kill Chang, but Spidey ties him in the parking lot. He'll tell the police that he's been cooperative with him. Peter is sure that this would not be the last attempt to kill Chang, so he, Julie and Jonah want to convince Emily of moving Chang from hospital to Jonah's home, but Emily mistrusts Peter. However, Ming tells his niece to listen to what Peter says. However, without realising that, a nurse or a hospital clerk has heard them talking about taking away Chang.

Three thugs follow Peter to the underground station. They try to run over Spider taking control of an underground train when Spidey interferes, but they fail. Julie and Peter talk in front of a street hot-dog vendor (Herman Tweede) about the news: Min Lo died at hospital. Most of the Marine soldiers in the photo they have have already died. They look for Jonathan Fleming (John Milford), who's been left for dead but they now that he's alive and well.

Joe (Tony Clark) appears with the news that Spidey interfered. His boss wants to kill him next time. Professor Roderick Dent stole some money, went to jail and was dishonourably discharged. He admits some wrong-doing, but he says it was all a set-up. He kept a photo and a letter. They are being watched through all this conversation.

Peter, Jonah, Dent and Emily travel to Hong King. There are many tourist shots, and people doing tai-chi in the park, including a karate warrior (Emil Farkas) fight, for some reason. They are being followed by the girls who didn't pay attention to the mafia boss at the beginning. In a traditional market, the group is attacked. The thugs run away by boat, so Spidey goes after them. He uses his web to run from them.

News of Min's death reach Hong-Kong, but Zeider is still not satisfied. Dent / Fleming's reward photograph is all over Hong Kong, apparently. Zeider has Dent kidnapped so that he can't testify against him. Luckily, Dent had been put a beeper or a searcher or something in the pockets of his jacket without him even noticing it, so that Emily and Peter can follow that sign.

Some thugs go after Spider-Man, who is shot with a sleeping rifle or something. He falls to the dirty waters at the harbour, but some fishermen pick him up in their boat while Emily watch. Emily has four young men to take Spidey with her to hospital - where Dr Pai (George Cheung) takes care of him. Emily is very surprised when the doctor takes Spider-Man's mask away and it's Peter Parker. The doctor gives him an injection and he wakes up. Zeide is angry that they couldn't finish Spidey forever - too many bystanders all over the place (they didn't even look like extras for the film, but real "civilians" and passers-by).

Spidey climbs up a building. He ties the Karate thug with his wrist web, and two other thugs later on. The last thug is much more difficult to defeat. Dent has been tied down and has a piece of cloth over his eyes. Spidey calls the police and he has all the bad guys arrested.

Spidy clears Chang's name. Emily and Peter kiss at the airport when Peter is coming back to New York - he says that now he's got a reason to visit Hong Kong. With his flight's last call, they hug each other.
