Synopsis

Spank! largely revolves around the "cafe culture" which dominates much of the Adelaide social scene, specifically Rundle street.Paulie is an ex-priest who has recently left his order and seeks some direction in his life. To his horror many of his childhood friends still remain exceedingly delinquent, specifically 'Rocky', a boxing obsessed thirty something living off of his father's success. Jo is Rocky's beautiful girlfriend who is infatuated by the ex-priest Paulie - and the feeling is of course mutual. The rest of the film centres on Paulie's friends, Tina and Nick's trials to make their mark on the competitive Rundle street cafe scene with their own effort. The film balances comedy (specifically multicultural stereotypes) and traditional romance side plots.
