Mason Boone and his friends Steve and Sheldon are college students perfectly content with passing their days playing role-playing card games, reading comic books, and discussing the nuances of obscure science fiction movies. Everything changes when Mason meets Charlotte, an attractive young nursing student who shares none of the same interests. Mason falls head over heels and begins his pursuit of Charlotte's affections with reckless abandon as he tries to pass himself off as a regular guy. His deception is short-lived, however, as he implores his unabashedly nerdy friends to help out with the cause and problems arise when Charlotte's overprotective best friend and overbearing father complicate the burgeoning romance.
