The year is 2977 AD. Humanity has created a vast star-faring civilization, but it has mostly lost its ambitions. The population is increasingly reacting with ennui and apathy to events. When humanity is attacked by the Mazone, a race of intelligent plant-based beings in female humanoid form, few react to the threat. The space pirate Captain Harlock leads a crew of outlaws in launching counter-attacks.
