Jeeto lives with her alcoholic father, Choudhry Baljit Singh, her mother, and brother, Shinda. Shinda falls into bad company, is subsequently arrested and jailed. She attends to college studies, household chores, carry on a love affair with fellow-collegian, Amar, and try and prevent her father from getting too drunk and making a spectacle of himself.
