Finding Dale's wallet, Denny returns it just as two men shoot each other with one dying and one escaping. Dale blames Denny for the murder and Lasses has to pose as the Sheriff to free him. Trailing the wounded man they learn he and Dale are Government Agents. Jimmy, Denny, and Lasses now join up with Dale and soon find themselves involved in a gold bullion smuggling racket.—Maurice VanAuken <[email protected]>

Dusting off her (and Stanley Roberts) original screenplay for Republic's 1938's "Pals of the Saddle" with The Three Mesquiteers, the prolific Betty Burbridge used it again at Monogram (sans any credit to her original co-writer) for Jimmy Wakely's first starring film. The story is the same but now with nine songs as opposed to the original film's none. Jimmy Wakely, "Lasses" White and Denny Moore find a wallet belonging to Dale Harding and Denny takes it to her at a nearby dude resort. He arrives in time to see Dale lure Bruce Carter to her hotel room where she and Cleve Trevor relieve him of a letter. Carter shoots Trevor and escapes through a window. Denny is accused of the shooting and is rescued by Jimmy and "Lasses." They later find Trevor dying in a deserted cabin. He gives Denny a marshal's badge and a letter for Dale, who is also an undercover U.S.government agent. Dale tells Jimmy that she and Trevor were on the trail of a gang of gold-smugglers. Denny, Jimmy and "Lasses" join forces with Dale and go after the culprits.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
