A smooth-talking sailor looking for a quick date meets an admiral's granddaughter and finds himself in a house full of top Navy officers, along with a couple of spies interested in plans for a new robot-controlled flight system.

In San Francisco, Sailor Handsome from the aircraft carrier Saratoga meets Helen, a relative of his admiral. Invited to his admiral's home, he meets a friend from his ship who has invented an autopilot for the planes. Two spies are trying to steal the plans, as well as the autopilot that is already installed at a plane. Handsome tries to stop them from doing this.—Stephan Eichenberg <[email protected]>

U.S. Navy sailor "Handsome" Callahan is always spinning yarns about his many glamorous girlfriends, his athletic prowess, his career aspirations, and his family background. With one day's shore leave, Handsome sets out to find a date for dinner. A pair of baby shoes come in handy for breaking the ice with the girls he meets; he charms them with improvised tales of his brother's son, his sister's daughter, his loving mother, his presumed-dead father, and so on. Unable to secure a date for that night, Handsome is hit by a car driven by Helen, the granddaughter of Admiral Farnsworth. Helen recognizes the baby shoes as belonging to her boyfriend, Handsome's shipmate Duke. She finds Handsome amusing and takes him home to dinner. Guarded by Vincent the butler, Handsome is surprised to find the house full of top Navy officers, as well as a couple of shady characters who seem to be interested in Duke's new plans for a robot-controlled pilotless flight system.—Jimmy L.
