Eigil, a boy of seven years, lives with his father, mother and little sister on a farm. He has a special friend: Snøvsen, a creature with one leg and one toe. When his family is having money problems and are in danger of getting evicted from their home, Eigil tries to use Snøvsen to raise money by signing him up for the circus and getting him on television.
