Silent Pig is a dark humored political allegory adapted from a series of news article in China. A young man works for the first time as a sound recordist on his TV newsman father's reporting set. He finds out they are making news at the site of an earthquake to cover up the fact that it is actually a pig farm, demolished by the government, and the owner of the demolished farm is still buried alive under the ground. As he witnesses his father murdering the farm owner, a pig survives the whole tragedy and ends up being propagandized as a news praising the government. The image of his father in his mind collapses together with the elaborately demonstrated image of the government.—Anonymous
