A mute man searches for the spirit of a bear and, meanwhile, his voice.

A mute man, intrigued by an urban legend he discovered online, sets out to investigate claims of a polar bear wandering around an abandoned zoo in Boston. At the same time, the city is buzzing with excitement over the imminent arrival of the northern lights, caused by strong electromagnetic activity. As he roams around the park in search of clues, the man encounters various people who offer conflicting accounts: some swear they have seen the bear, while others dismiss the rumor as baseless. Tracking down a blurry image of the bear, he finds out its author was a nanny who died recently. The northern lights have finally arrived. The next day, the mute man encounters the allegedly dead nanny, who leads him to where the polar bear would appear. Slowly, the mute man regains his voice: a deep, coarse, and bestial roar.—Lei Li
