Janet Roberts, 86, lives alone in a cedar forest on the site of an 1880's gold mine. She lives without electricity and within the natural rhythms and beauty of the seasons. In this lyrical portrait of an inspiring woman contemplating her mortality, Janet shares the power of silence, sound, and nature in enabling her to meet the challenges of life, old age, and death. Janet's life includes times spent teaching on Indian reservations, culminating in being honored with a special peyote ceremony. This video is about the need to learn from our elders and imaginatively provide what may support them and us through the many transitions that occur at the end of life.—Anonymous
