A coming of age story of a young boy from a rural village in Sri Lanka, as he journeys through twists and turns of his life and finally comes up triumphant.

Nisal's ambitions are held back due to his rural school not accommodating advanced level examinations. Janaka volunteers to conduct after school classes for Nisal which results in jealousy from the villagers. As Nisal misses the exams, with the support of Janaka and Ridmi, he moves to Urban Colombo for a second attempt. There he befriends a drug dealer Ashen, and gets hooked on drugs. Nisal gets arrested for possession and is sentenced to rehabilitation where he returns back to his normal and goes on to complete his exams, graduate and to marry Ridmi.
