An animated adaptation of the novel "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1886) by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The 7-year-old Cedric "Ceddie" Errol is a British-American boy, raised in New York City. He loves playing baseball and playing the flute. Following the death of his father at an early age, Ceddie becomes the only available heir to his elderly grandfather, the Earl Dorincourt. Ceddie takes up residence in his family's ancestral castle in the United Kingdom, and is soon followed there by his widowed mother. The current Earl is a bitter and selfish old man, who tries to teach aristocratic values to Ceddie. In return, Ceddie tries to teach the old man about compassion and caring for something other than yourself.—Dimos I
